White House demurs over calls for CIA prosecutions

The White House has refused to be drawn on calls for former CIA and other government officials to be prosecuted over the use of torture in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks on America.  The United Nations is demanding the prosecution of those officials responsible for the torture revealed in a US Senate report on Tuesday, and as our Washington Correspondent Simon Marks reports, there have been similar calls on Capitol Hill.

DEMOCRATS BALK OVER DODD-FRANK PUSH IN SPENDING BILL:

Lawmakers are clashing over provisions in that $1.1 trillion spending bill, casting some doubt over whether Congress will be able to pass a long-term bill to avoid a government shutdown before tonight’s midnight deadline. News that the spending bill released Tuesday night included campaign-finance changes and a GOP effort to dismantle part of the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial overhaul provoked a liberal backlash. Opposition from some Democrats, combined with resistance from conservative Republicans in the House, is narrowing the bill’s path to passage.

Bomb hits French-run school in Kabul - while six soldiers also killed on bus

A suicide bomber attacked a French-run high school in Afghanistan's capital, killing at least one person hours after another bomb left six Afghan soldiers dead on the outskirts of Kabul. The Afghan capital has been hit by a series of bombings and armed attacks this year as most foreign combat troops prepare to withdraw at the end of the month.

Drought-Ridden California Braces for Torrential Rain

A storm expected to be one of the windiest and rainiest in five years pushed across parts of Northern California after schools canceled classes and residents stocked up on supplies.  It’s expected to pummel the state with torrential rainfall, high winds and dangerous surf for the next several days. Rachel Silverman reports from San Francisco.

FBI finds no proof North Korea hacked Sony

A senior FBI official says the agency can't yet prove who was behind the hack attack on Sony Pictures.  Investigators have found no evidence of North Korean involvement.  Rebecca Bowring reports.

Like David vs. Goliath, Rick Wiles is a citizen reporter who decided to take on the Big News Media. Starting with a $7,500 donation in May 1999 to launch the first radio program, Rick’s faith in God and steadfast determination has overseen the growth and development of TRUNEWS into an internationally recognized source of credible news and information in a world where nothing seems to make sense anymore. Rick’s professional career was in media marketing and advertising sales. Throughout his early years, God’s hand silently guided him to be in employed in the latest new media. While in his early 20’s, Rick’s first media job was with a new FM radio station in the days when AM was still king.

In 1980, he blazed a path as a pioneer in local cable television advertising when CNN and ESPN were new start-up channels on cable TV.  As a sales manager, he launched one of the first cable advertising interconnects in the nation.  He was hired in 1984 by the Christian Broadcasting Network as the first National Cable Marketing Manager for the new CBN Cable Network which later became the Family Channel.  In 1995, Paul F. Crouch hired Rick as the Marketing Director for Trinity Broadcasting Network where Rick repositioned the TBN brand inside the cable industry – and played an important role in negotiating the early contracts to launch TBN on DirecTV, DISH, and the former PrimeStar DBS systems.  Rick resigned from TBN in September 1998 after receiving a dramatic call from God to fulltime ministry.
