Obama Takes Sweeping Action on US Immigration

Nearly five million people who are currently living illegally in the US will be able to escape deportation under sweeping changes to the US system announced by President Obama.  Speaking in a primetime TV address from the White House, Mr. Obama also pledged to crack down on illegal immigration at the border, and require some undocumented migrants to pass a criminal background check.  Our Washington correspondent Lorna Shaddick reports.

BOEHNER: 'WE WILL NOT STAND IDLE' ON IMMIGRATION

House Speaker John Boehner says President Barack Obama is "damaging the presidency itself" with his unilateral action on immigration and says the House will not stand idle and let it happen. But the Ohio Republican offers no hint of what steps the House might take to block Obama's move to offer deportation relief and work permits to 5 million immigrants in the country illegally.

NSA chief warns Chinese cyber-attacks could shut U.S. infrastructure

Testifying to the House of Representatives Intelligence Committee on cyber threats, Admiral Mike Rogers, the director of the U.S. National Security Agency said digital attackers from China and "probably one or two" other countries have the ability to invade and possibly shut down. The Hackers have been able to penetrate power utilities, aviation networks and financial companies systems and perform "reconnaissance" missions to determine how the networks are put together.

Russian War Games Spill Secrets, Spur Neighbors

Russian jets probing NATO airspace and supersized war drills are spilling Kremlin military secrets and scaring European nations into stiffening their armed forces.  The alliance said by late October it intercepted more than 100 Russian planes this year, more than three times the number in 2013. A report by the European Leadership Network, a London security research group, termed the incidents "a highly disturbing picture of violations of national airspace, emergency scrambles" and "narrowly avoided mid-air collisions."

KERRY TO LEAVE NUKE TALKS, IRAN PONDERS NEXT STEP

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry decided Friday to pull back from nuclear talks in Vienna, leaving Iran's foreign minister to ponder an apparent new proposal from Washington meant to bridge differences standing in the way of a deal with less than four days to deadline.  Meanwhile the International Atomic Energy Agency has issued a report accusing Iran of not cooperating with an investigation into its past nuclear program. Our correspondent Sandra Gathmann in Vienna says the report will not help negotiations.

In 1980, he blazed a path as a pioneer in local cable television advertising when CNN and ESPN were new start-up channels on cable TV.  As a sales manager, he launched one of the first cable advertising interconnects in the nation.  He was hired in 1984 by the Christian Broadcasting Network as the first National Cable Marketing Manager for the new CBN Cable Network which later became the Family Channel.  In 1995, Paul F. Crouch hired Rick as the Marketing Director for Trinity Broadcasting Network where Rick repositioned the TBN brand inside the cable industry – and played an important role in negotiating the early contracts to launch TBN on DirecTV, DISH, and the former PrimeStar DBS systems.  Rick resigned from TBN in September 1998 after receiving a dramatic call from God to fulltime ministry.
